GE Security Expands IFS EtherNav™ Product Line by Introducing 8 Channel Contact Closure over Ethernet Series
GE Security, manufacturer of IFS fiber optic transmission equipment, has announced the expansion of its EtherNav™ product line. This new EtherNav™ series, the DECT/DECR3000 Series is an Ethernet Transmitter and Receiver that effectively allows up to 8 contact closure relays be transported on an Ethernet network. Contact closure relay allows an additional device such as a dome tamper switch or alarm event input can be added and its signal transmitted back to the monitoring location. By accomplishing this over an Ethernet network eliminates the need for additional wiring to support the alarm contact closure. (more)

IFS Adds Four Port Ethernet Module for Orion™ System
International Fiber Systems Incorporated (IFS), has announced another new module to further expand the capabilities of the highly regarded Orion™ Fiber Optic Communication System. The new module called the Orion™ Four Port Ethernet Module has the capability of directly inserting four individual channels of Ethernet data on to the Orion Network. This module was designed for applications where additional data channels needed to be inserted into the Orion™ network, such as access control applications where data needs to be passed from panel-to-panel or remote panel to control center, CCTV surveillance applications remote keyboard and camera control data need to be passed and ITS applications including variable message signs and traffic signalization.(more)
