IFS Fiber Optic Seminars

No company has been as proactive as IFS in offering a seminars introducing the ease of use, and the benefits of using fiber optic transmission. Our Fiber101 and Fiber102 Series seminars have been exceptionally well attended over the years. Thousands of techs, dealers, integrators and those just interested in learning about fiber optic transmission have attended these informative seminars in locations throughout the world.
Now IFS is stepping up the level of interest. Fiber optic transmission has evolved into the digital age over the last few years. IFS has a four-part, half day seminar that details how fiber optic transmission can have a positive effect on your next installation.
A national seminar schedule will be published here every three months, as well as our schedule of upcoming trade shows and events.

What will the sessions cover?

Many fiber optic seminars cover so much fiber theory, that even though you leave "enlightened" by the experience, you find yourself not knowing how to use what you've learned. The IFS seminars are different. Whether you're a novice or an experienced user of fiber optics, you'll leave this seminar armed with the key essentials needed to find, bid, and install quality fiber optic jobs.

Part 1: Introduction to IFS
This portion introduces you to IFS and reviews the position the company holds in the global transmission market as well as the markets IFS fiber optic transmission products are used in.

Part 2: Fiber Optic Basics and Applications
Part 2 explores the different types of signal transmission over optical fiber and explains the differences and benefits of each. It also details fiber types and how to choose the right type for any application. Also detailed is the four step system design program so you can quickly be on your way to designing successful fiber optic transmission systems for your applications.

Part 3: Analysis of Fiber Optic Video Transmission Techniques
Part 3 reviews the three most common methods of transmitting video over optical fiber and the pros and cons of each. It also details the questions you need to answer before you choose the equipment for any application. It also details the three video performance standards that measure video picture quality. You will get an understanding of the superiority of digitally encoded fiber optic transmission as well as an overview of the types of products available and how they can be applied to the security market.

Part 4: Cost Effective and Practical Solutions for Large Scale Video Surveillance Applications
This part is designed to assist you in finding and designing practical solutions for transmitting and managing hundreds, even thousands of video camera signals in applications such as, multiple building, campus or mass transit. It also focuses in on how to integrate the transport of contact closure, data/PTZ control and audio along with the video signals on fiber. You will get a working knowledge of system solutions that allow for the integration of multiple camera, control and accessories manufacturers’ equipment within a single system.

Part 5: Ethernet/Network Training
This presentation will discuss the basics of Ethernet and Networking and describe how IFS is phasing the technology into today’s marketplace. Attendee’s will learn the associated hardware and specific advantages and limitations that are presented with this type of solution. There will be an overview of the most common questions that are asked by IT Managers or Administrators when presenting these types of applications. Also attendee’s will learn about the different types of applications (i.e., Access Control, CCTV, etc.) and how these items individually and/or combined effect the performance of a network. Attendee’s will also be shown various architectures that are currently being used in today’s marketplace and how Fiber and Ethernet can be merged onto a common communication backplane. This course is available as a 2-part webinar. Webinar will open a new browser window. Allow a few minutes for file to load. You will need to have Flash Player installed.

These courses will be held in a convenient location near you. Classes start at 8:30 am and conclude approximately at 12 noon. The time you spend at these important seminars could be the most profitable time you invest in your future this year
