Wood industry leader Derome enhances customer experience with IFS Applications
IFS to empower 1,700 Derome staff at 50+ sites to increase overall efficiency and to make life easier for its customers
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Derome, one of Sweden’s largest wood companies, has chosen IFS Applications™ 10 as its new business platform. The main objective is to increase efficiency across the group by tying together internal processes including finance, sales, manufacturing, logistics, and customer services.
Established in 1946, the Derome Group’s operations span the entire forest and wood industry, including five sawmills, construction and iron trade, house manufacturing, production of truss, pellets, packaging, building components, land development and property management.
To increase operational efficiency and simplify the ordering process, Derome has embarked on a project to establish a new internal business platform. Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the company chose IFS Applications 10, which will be rolled out to 1,700 users across more than 50 sites.
“As a company, we must be flexible, fast and knowledgeable in order for our customers to succeed,” Derome CEO Magnus Andersson said. “We needed a modern business system to enable us to further improve the quality of our deliveries and to make everyday life easier for our customers. With IFS, we can become an even better partner and supplier as we get a holistic view of all our customer engagements.”
With IFS Applications 10, Derome will integrate internal processes including finance, sales, manufacturing, logistics and customer service on a single, easy-to-use platform. As a result, Derome’s customers will enjoy a seamless and simplified experience with full transparency into the entire ordering process. The solution will make it easier for customers to place, amend and trace their orders as well as enable on-demand communication with Derome customer service agents.
Magnus Andersson added, “The new business platform is part of our overall digitalization journey, which is currently being implemented across our entire company. We want to be at the forefront of the industry segments we operate within, and we always strive to be successful. We value the fact that IFS is a global company with a long-term perspective, extensive industry expertise, and a strong Swedish heritage. IFS knows our industry well and its technical platform matches our current and future needs.”
Elni Kullmer, Head of IFS Scandinavia, said, “We look forward to supporting Derome on their mission to improve the quality of their deliveries and to make their customer journey simpler and more transparent. This is a great proof point for us within the manufacturing and retail segment and we are very excited to kickstart the implementation project.”
