IFS Developer - Applications Forms Development

About this Course

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to develop IFS solutions on the IFS platform with respect to the Application Forms Development (IFS Enterprise Explorer) of IFS Applications. This is also one of the courses towards gaining the IFS Certified Practitioner accreditation for Developers. It enables students to cover and prepare the Application Forms Development specification topics for “IFS Practitioner Developer - Application Forms Development” exam.

Target Audience

Those who need to be able to modify and/or create new windows within the windows-based client (IFS Enterprise Explorer) of IFS Applications™.

  1. Introduce the architecture of the IFS Enterprise Explorer
  2. Introduce layered application architecture in Window forms development.
  3. Set up a development environment
  4. Create a simple Windows form
  5. Generate a new navigator containing forms created
  6. Add and modify menus
  7. Transfer data between forms
  8. Work with events
  9. Demonstrate advanced database access techniques
  10. Create a master detail form window
  11. Create a dialog box
  12. Introduce translation and security

At the end of this course, the students will be able to:

  • Understand the IFS Enterprise Explorer, which is the Microsoft Windows-based client architecture of IFS Applications.
  • Set up a development environment
  • Understand the development cycle of the windows-based client

Knowledge: One must be familiar with ERP software in general and the look & feel of IFS Applications. In addition, one must have a good understanding of the applicable business processes for their area of expertise. Industry experience is highly recommended. Finally, knowledge of Object Oriented Design principles with SQL, PLSQL, C#, and .NET Framework is a must.
