FAQs
-
What does the migration to IFS Cloud involve?
Migration typically includes a technical upgrade, data migration, process re-alignment, and training. The goal is to move your business to a modern, composable platform while ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value. Our teams guide you every step of the way.
-
Will we need to re-implement everything from scratch?
No. While some process re-evaluation may be required, migration does not mean starting over. Much of your existing configuration, data and integrations can be transitioned — with the added benefit of optimising cloud capabilities.
-
How long does the upgrade to IFS Cloud take?
Timelines vary depending on system complexity, customisations, and scope. However, most migrations take between 6 to 12 months, with structured planning to avoid disruption to daily operations.
-
What happens to our existing customisations?
Many customisations can be replaced with standard functionality now available in IFS Cloud. Where needed, customisations can be re-developed using extension tools designed to collaborate seamlessly with the evergreen model.
-
Will IFS support us throughout the migration process?
Yes. You’ll be supported by dedicated IFS experts and our partner ecosystem – from planning and readiness through to execution and go-live. We also offer proven methodologies, upgrade toolkits, and partner support to ensure a smooth, low-risk transition.
